Volunteering at ROE is a special need at our school and rewarding to all!!!

Volunteers are a precious asset at River Oaks Elementary. If you are interested in one or more of the activities areas described on the activities pages, or one of the opportunities listed below, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, giving your name, child’s name, home phone number, cell phone number, and email address. All volunteers are required to register through HISD VIPS program in order to volunteer at ROE.  Please visit the HISD website to learn more about VIPS registration.

The PTO coordinates many activities throughout the year. The following list identifies several of these fun-filled events where we need your help:

Volunteer Opportunities Throughout the Year

We have several additional areas where we help through the school year:

• Library Support – assist with shelving, cataloging, etc.
• Nature Center – gardening, maintenance of the center, etc.
• IB – help with bulletin boards and projects .
• Assisting in the cafeteria during lunch
