School Directory
The ROE School Directory is an annually published, spiral bound listing of families’ contact information sorted by grade level and class. It also contains useful school information, such as the school calendar, staff email addresses, and PTO committee listings for your easy reference throughout the school year. You can also purchase business ads and spirit ads to place in the School Directory, such as well wishes for your student and fun photos. This directory is published and distributed in October, with planning and data collection starting in August. How much does it cost?
Each family is provided a printed directory at no cost. Additional copies are available for a nominal cost at the ROE Online Store. The printing costs are funded through the sale of Business Ads and Spirit Ads.
How does my information get published in the Directory?
The class listings with each child’s name are provided by the school. Family contact information is provided by parents through their Profile in the ROE Online Store, under your own secure account for privacy reasons. The information is then consolidated and formatted into the Directory layout by a committee of volunteers. If desired, you may choose to block your contact information from being published in the printed directory by checking the appropriate box in the Online Store.
If you do not enter your contact information in your Profile in the ROE Online Store, your Directory listing will be blank, although your child’s name will be listed with their class.
Contact information is retained online as long as you have an active account at the ROE Online Store. Parents of returning students should verify their information online and update it as needed.

How do I make a Spirit Ad for my child?
Your spirit ad can be a picture or text or both. Many people make their ad by cropping a favorite photo of their child and superimpose text by using photo editing software or Microsoft Word. If you do not already have software that does this, a good suggestion is to use the free Picassa software by Google. You can download Picassa at http://picasa.google.com and view the online help as needed. For more information about technical specs and submission information, see the Spirit Ad flyer.
Can a Business purchase an ad in the Directory?
Yes! There is special pricing and a separate form for Business Ads. For more information about technical specs and submission information, see the Business Ad form.
Directory Schedule / Deadlines for Fall 2010:
- August 15 – payment for premium placement of Business Ads due
- September 2 – Contact Information must be updated via the ROE Online Store
- September 3 – Spirit Ads due (to guarantee placement within your child’s class listing)
- September 12 – last day for any remaining Spirit Ads and Business Ads to be submitted for publication
- September 26 – Proofing session (volunteers needed)
- mid-October – Directory is distributed to children at school
